More Than 70 Artists Featured in 2019 Laluzapalooza Group Show

Laluzapalooza, the annual group show from La Luz De Jesus Gallery, returns in March with more than 70 artists featured. As in previous years, Laluzapalooza 33 has no stated theme, and submissions come from artists working a variety of fields. The gallery says visitors can see taent ranging from “ever-growing roster of feature artists, alongside a promising batch of previously undiscovered, emerging talent.”

“Again we sorted through tens of thousands of submissions from commercial illustrators, graphic designers, tattooists, scenics, students, street taggers, animators and working gallery artists,” the gallery says. “There are 140+ pieces from 70 or so artists, continuing the tradition of the most exclusive selection of tastefully, jam-packed, salon-style exhibited works in Post-Pop.”

Simkins expands on this world in his upcoming solo exhibition, "Where Am I?" at KP Project/MKG, opening Saturday.

Casey Weldon Shows New Body of Work in ‘Latent Content’

Casey Weldon's paintings, ever examining digital media, pop culture, and other contemporary themes, pack a new show at Thinkspace Projects. “Latent Content” offers a new body of work that the gallery says is "thematically darker than previous output." Roq La Rue Group Show Asks Artists to React to ‘A Beautiful Ghost’

Inspired by the John Foxx instrumental “A Beautiful Ghost,” the gallery Roq La Rue asked several artists “to do their take on the title theme.” The result is a group show currently running at the gallery through March 3, with work from Brian Despain, Rick Araluce, Nannette Cherry, Kai Carpenter, Travis Louie, Jeff Jacobson, Kate MacDowell, Peter Ferguson, and Bella Ormseth.
