“Maybe it’s a rose in the suburbs at night, or fingertips lit up by the sun, glowing against the sky, but these little snapshots of a life, my life, they lure me in,” the artist said, in a past statement. “And while I’m there, staring, entranced, I am utterly gripped by my own mortality.”

The artist has garnered several awards for her work over the years, including “finalist in the 2004 Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship, the 2012, 2016 and 2017 Black Swan Prize For Portraiture, the 2014 Benalla Nude Prize, the 2017 Kennedy Prize, and a semi-finalist in the 2015 and 2017 Doug Moran Prize For Portraiture.”
